Frequently Asked Questions
(FAQ's)
-
How often should I drain my pool in Arizona?
Due to the high
calcium levels in our water, we recommend you drain your pool every
two or three years. This allows your chemicals to react as they are
designed to.
-
How often do I need to test my water chemistry?
Testing water once
per week will keep you on track in keeping a healthy swimming
environment.
-
Why do I need to add cyanuric acid to my pool?
Cyanuric acid is
also called “Pool Conditioner or Stabilizer”. This acts as a sun
screen and protects the chlorine in the water from dissipating
faster than it should. Once added to fresh water you may not have
to add it as your chlorine tabs contain stabilizer. However, if you
have a Salt Generator System you must add cyanuric acid
periodically.
-
Why does my Salt System controller tell me to add salt in
the winter time?
Salt systems cannot
read the salt level in the water once your water temperature drops
to 60 degrees or less. The manufacture recommends you turn the salt
system off during the winter months and chlorinate your pool with
“Liquid Chlorine”.
-
How often do I need to change the sand in my sand filter?
In most cases sand
in residential sand filters needs to be changed every 6-8 years.
-
How often should I clean my DE (Diatomaceous Earth)
filter?
Backwashing DE
filters only removes approximately 60 percent of debris.
Manufactures recommend completely disassembling the filter and
inspecting the grids and manifold for tears or cracks at least once
per year.
